Better light in four steps
Turn on Light
A warm white frame lights up around the picture.
Go fullscreen
The light then fills the edges of your screen.
Turn up screen brightness
More screen brightness means more light on your face.
Face the light
Sit facing a window if you can; daylight from in front plus the screen is a good mix. Avoid a bright window behind you.
Light checklist

- No single strong lamp from the side

Questions and answers
How does a screen ring light work?
The page shows a bright frame around your picture. Your screen gives off that light, and it falls on your face from in front. It is softer and weaker than a real ring light, but it often helps in a dim room.
How do I get the most light?
Turn on Light, press Fullscreen and turn your screen brightness up. In fullscreen the frame fills the edges of the whole screen.
What does the warmth slider do?
It changes the frame colour from neutral white to a warmer, slightly yellow white. Warmer light is often more flattering on skin; try both.
Can I make the frame bigger?
The frame is widest in fullscreen. On a laptop, sitting a little closer to the screen also puts more of its light on your face.
